Janet & Mark at First Colony Winery by Cat Thrasher

by Claire Goodman

I have been aware of Cat Thrasher of Cat Thrasher Photography for a couple of years but this is the first time I’m getting to feature her here on the blog and I’m so thrilled!  Cat photographed Janet & Mark’s springtime wedding at First Colony Winery just this past Spring and sent me this wonderful selection of images to share with you.  Thanks so much Cat!

Here are a few words from Cat about the day:

Janet and Mark got married on a gorgeous spring day at First Colony Winery, near Scottsville. It was not expected to rain that day, but then the clouds rolled in just after the ceremony, right when we had planned to do their formal portraits. But they didn’t miss a beat: they grabbed a couple umbrellas and went skipping out into the downpour for their first portraits as a married couple, trotting along among the lush grape vines and wet Virginia red clay with playful glee. What a great wedding!

What a beautiful location for a wedding! I love the pictures of the bride and groom with the umbrellas, good for them for going out in the rain! I’ll bet they’re glad they did after seeing these pictures. (I love how the trees look in the background of the color photos of the bride and groom walking in the vines.)
