Tom, of Tom Daly Photography tells me that this was the first wedding where he was “100% video guy” (whereas usually he’d be doing the photography too). I have to say I really love Tom’s style … he gives Catherine & Mike’s wedding such a nice feeling of celebration and joy. You’ll notice that all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen are dressed differently which I love and the musicians leading the bride and groom back up the aisle is one of my favorite scenes. This sweet country wedding took place and the lovely Inn at Westwood Farm just about a month ago… and the cool music in the video, which the couple chose, is “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Brad Bennett of Shaking Hands Productions was kind enough to send me several wonderful videos he’s shot over the last few months… it was difficult to choose which one to show you first but I finally chose this one of Ben & Kaitlyn’s rainy springtime wedding ceremony at the University of Virginia Chapel and reception at the always gorgeous Keswick Hall.  I especially love the footage of the bride & groom and wedding party on the grounds of the University and I have to say Brad does an especially good job of weaving the details of the day in with the event itself.

Lauren & Dennis’ wedding at Veritas Vineyards was one of the sweetest I can remember. The love between these two was palpable and the joy of their day, simply contagious. This video trailer, brought to you by my friends at United Wedding Productions, who attended both as film-makers and friends of the couple, did an extraordinary job capturing the love and happiness of their day. A gorgeous Veritas Vineyards wedding photographed by Ashely Barnett of Jarnett Photography.  I especially love the black and white image of Elizabeth coming down the stairs to meet her groom… just gorgeous!  Here are a few words from Ashley:

Elizabeth & Matthew were married on June 3rd on a gorgeous day at Veritas Winery. We loved how the couple wrote letters to each other that would be kept secret and placed into a box that can only be opened on their 10th wedding anniversary. What a unique and wonderful way to remind your partner that you love them and all the feelings you were feeling on your wedding day! These two had a lovely ceremony and a dance party that lasted into the next day!

Elizabeth & Matthew chose to do a First Look and see each other before the ceremony!  This allowed us to get some absolutely beautiful images and for them to enjoy each other’s company alone for a few moments before the chaos of  the wedding day took over.

This is a truly original and extremely Charlottesvillian save-the-date idea… I absolutely love it! If you’re not familiar with the location in the video this is the Free Speech Wall right on the downtown mall just outside of City Hall. When I first contacted Squid & Beard via Vimeo about posting their sweet little film on my blog they said “sure, but can you just wait ’til Maggie & Blair release it to their family & friends on the 19th”? So, when I got home yesterday evening and found an e-mail telling me it was good to go I couldn’t wait to put it up for you to see. Enjoy!
