A few weeks ago Andrew contacted me to say that he wanted to do something really special for his 10 year Anniversary in August and wanted to make it a surprise for his beautiful wife, Tiffany. The part of the surprise that he wanted me to help with was a Vow Renewal Ceremony… so over the following few weeks we worked together to create a ceremony that was heartfelt but wouldn’t put Tiffany on the spot (since she wasn’t in on the plan).

What we came up with, I think, was very sweet. Tiffany was truly surprised, but very gracious and kind about participating in what we’d planned. Their 20+ guests, including their 2 beautiful children, seemed to enjoy it all.

Jamie and Ashley were married last July in the midst of their family and friends right in their own backyard! Two weeks ago today, on their First Anniversary, I had the privilege of performing a simple little Vow Renewal Ceremony for them in the very same spot that they held their wedding ceremony… on their beautiful wooded property, but without any guests at all… well, except their puppy, “Shug”.

Truth is, people don’t usually renew their vows on their first anniversary but Jamie and Ashley had some special circumstances: Jamie had lost his wedding ring just days after their wedding last year and, although he’d gotten a new one, he hadn’t yet worn it. So, we held a very sweet and intimate little vow renewal and blessed both of their rings.  It’s never too soon to renew your love and your vows.

Congratulations on your first year Ashley & Jamie… I look forward to numbers 5 and 10 and 20!
